Neigong / Core Training is a total conditioning program that works your body "from the inside out" by focusing on "core" muscles – mostly those in the stomach and back. It's also a mind-body exercise, which, like yoga, stresses proper
breathing while you do very precise body movements. The core muscles are the basis for all Qigong, Tai Chi, as well as basically all everyday movements in life: lifting, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, and twisting.

Neigong / Core Training can help you enjoy all forms of exercise, and daily activities with greater ease and decreased risk of injury. It conditions your entire body, stretching and strengthening muscles uniformly, promoting balanced musculature, core control, flexibility and agility. The "Core Conditioned body" features an erect vibrant posture, toned thighs and calves, a resilient back with increased bone density, and firm abdominals.

Who should do Neigong / Core training?

People of all ages and physical conditions can benefit from Neigong / Core Training – whether it is toning weak muscles, increasing your flexibility, developing endurance, or establishing good posture habits. No prior Qigong or Tai Chi experience is required. Because of its focus on gentle, noncompetitive physical conditioning, Neigong / Core Training is also extremely useful for prevention and recovery from low back pain and spinal injuries, neck and shoulder pain, and hip conditions.

Do I need any special supplies or equipment?

Neigong / Core Training utilizes balls and exercise tubing to most efficiently engage the core muscles groups. You will need:

  • One 65cm ball
  • One small pillow to cushion when kneeling on a hardwood floor
  • One 6" to 8" ball (used between the knees)
  • One figure 8 tubing (may be purchased in class)

Can I do these exercises at home?

The Neigong / Core Training class empowers you with a life-long set of exercises that when practiced 3 times a week for 20 minutes a day maintain a healthy, toned, and flexible body.
