Chinese An Mo Therapy is an holistic approach to massage therapy treating the person as a whole, integrating physical, mental, and emotional aspects. It does not deal with symptoms alone, but goes to the very origin of health problems, including psychosomatic responses.
Practitioners utilizing Chinese An Mo Therapy work mainly on the abdomen with deep, soft, and gentle touch to train the organs to work more efficiently. All of the main vital body systems are addressed: digestion, respiration, lymph, nervous, endocrine, urinary reproductive, integumentary, muscular, and acupuncture meridians. This type of work promotes the absorption of nutrients, stimulates elimination, and provides deep detoxification of the body.
The practice of An Mo has been used for centuries to help detoxify, strengthen, and refine the body's energy for the enhancement of health, well-being, and spirituality.
This ancient practice is primarily utilized at the following 3 levels:
1. Teaching clients to work on themselves
Clients are taught techniques in breathing and fundamental self-massage, and receive nutritional guidance. Specific and relevant visualization and meditation practices are also used to further enhance the effectiveness of the treatments.
2. Restructuring and strengthening the body
An Mo works on the visceral structures of internal organs, stimulating them into better performance. It also provides deep work on muscle and bone structuire, helping with postural problems. An Mo has been helpful in the treatment of: chronic back, neck, and shoulder pains; addressing problems related to the misalignment of the feet, legs, and pelvis; releasing deep seated tension; and restoring vitality.
3. Detoxification
These techniques improves elimination, stimulate and improve the lymphatic and circulatory systems, strengthen the immune system and disease resistance, aiding clients in relieving their bodies of excess stagnation.
